Pantheon Of Armenian Gods

Aramazd_ The father of all gods and goddess, the creator of heaven and earth. The first two letters in his name, "AR" is the Indo-European root for sun, light, and life. Aramazd was the source of earth's fertility, making it fruitful and bountiful. The celebration in his honor was called Am'nor, or New Year, which was celebrated on March 21 in the old Armenian calendar(also the Spring equinox).
Nuneh_ The goddess of wisdom, common sense, motherhood and protector of home, keeper of the family.
Anahit_ The goddess of
fertility and birth, in early period she was the goddes of war. By the 1st c. BCE she was the main deity in Armenia.
Vagagan _ The god of thunder, clouds and fire. Comes from "Vah"-god, "Agne"- fire. Vahagan is constellation Orion.
Astghik_ The goddess of love and beauty, symbolized by skylight. She was the wife or lover of Vahagan, he god of fire and metal. She was also goddess of water. The celebration in her honor occurred in mid June and was called Vardevar. It is still celebrated in Armenia by pouring water on unsuspecting passer-by.
Ara Geghetsik - "Ara the Beautiful"- the god of spring, flora, agriculture, sowing and water. He is associated with Lsis, Vishu and Dionysus, as the symbol of new life.
Hayk - A king, but in legend the father of Armenia. He slew the Babylonian king described in the bible as attempting to build the tower of Babel. Hayk's armies invaded Babylon, and establish the kingdom from which Armenians claim their heritage. The legend of Hayk is the forerunner of the legend of Hercules.
Tsovinar, Nar - The goddess of water, sea, rain.The daughter of Aramazd. The goddess of war. Her cult was closely connected with Anahit's cult. And it was not a randomness that her tample was located in Ekegyac region (gavar), near with Anahit's temple. Now Armenians usually call their grandmother "Nane" (Nan) which means that Nane was an influential goddess in Ancient Armenians spiritual life.
Vanatur _ Amanor was the god of Armenians new year and lord of the new yield. The celebration in his honor occurred in the end of Junly and was called Navasard (new year). His main worship was located in Bagavan city. If Amanor was the god of new year and new yield, Vanatur was the god of hospitality and bountiful hosts.
Mihr _ The god of sun and heaven light. He was the son of Aramazd, the brother of Anahit and Nane. His main worship was located in Bagaharich. The pagan temple of Garni was Mihr's worship.
Tir _ The god of literature, science and art, also an interpreter of dreams. Tir was secretary of Aramazd. Tir's temple was located near Artashat and was called "Aramazds grchi divan" or "Mehyan for studying sciences".
Tork Angegh _ The god of power, bravery, war, the military.
Aralez _ One of the oldest gods in the Armenian pantheon, Aralez was a god in the form of a dog, whose powers included the ability to resurrect the dead by licking wounds clean.
Spandaramet or Sandaramet _ The god of underground. He was the god of dead people's kingdom or hell.

Module #3-"Our Brains On Media"

When I first saw this video, it attracted me with its music and interesting idea. While you watch this video, you use your limbic brain as you listen to music. And as you read names of football players on their shirts you also use neocortex part of your brain. I'm a great fan of Manchester United. I wish I were in place of girl you see in video, but I would paint my face with the flag of Manchester!!! :)

Adventure is necessary in life ! ! !

Everyone searches for different pleasures in life, whether it is: money, power, fame, knowledge, peace, understanding of self, or just the thrill of adventure. People in today's world lack a sense of adventure in it, or it wouldn't be very enjoyable. Adventure in my opinion, is one of the essence of life. Today, people are very cautious about jumping into something new and adventurous. It makes you wonder how dull their lives really are. The cautions ones need to realize that the willingnes to undertake adventure is a necessary part of happy existence. A variety of sports are adventurous to a lot of people today. Some people race cars, living their lives a quarter mile at a time. Skydivers jump out of an airplane, to escape their daily stress and push their adrenaline to the max.I think that cool...! Life has its ups and downs, but each of us can't live a happy life without some adventure in it.;)

Problems with society

There are many problems right now in the society.Some of these problems can be easily solved, or can be impossible to solve depending how bad it is. Many people think these problems should be solved by the governments,since they are in charge. But we can also solve these problems if we get together. Not all the problems, but some that can be solved. I think the three major problems in the society today are:unemployment, violence and pollution.Many people today are either unemployed.Some of these just stay home,when they should go out and try to get job.I think,if there are more people like this, the country would be poor and bad. Another problem in the society is violence. Today, there are many violence in the streets, some school and also in the media.For example, my little brother likes to watch wrestling and he sometimes does wrestling moves on me for no reason and thinking it's fun.Even though it doesn't hurt me, because I'm bigger then him,he might hurt someone in school or something. And finally, the third problem in the society today is pollution. Many things these days cause pollution such as cars, air conditioners, refrigerators,factories,CFC cans. In conclusion, unemployment, violence and pollution would consider to be the three major problems in the society life. People and government should get together and try to solve these problems in order to make this planet a safe and good place to live.If these problems are not solved, there might not be an Earth in the future to live on.:( :)

You can find video games everywhere nowdays, they are in nearly every child's home in one way or another, you can find them on mobiles, computers.If played constantly,video games can stop important social interactions between family and friends.The only reason they may want to talk to friends is to find out 'Secret passage ways' and about levels. But many computer games encourage hand-eye cordiation and they are interactive,so children feel more in control.I love video games and play such a games like Zuma,Giza, War Chess,Galapago,Football...:)

Magazines and newspapers

Magazines and newspapers can help, when a person has nothing to do except to sit and wait for his destination. The reading of an interesting magazines and newspaper shortens the distance and time that is in between. Through valuable and subtle critical and commentary articles on culture, social civilization, new life style we learn a lot of interesting things. When reading them we can train our reasoning power. I love to read magazines about youth, about fashion, about how live my favorite stars.:)
